The Chronicled History of Cup of Tea
My part in writing the history of this guild is chronicled here. This is my personal story about my operating of this guild as well as my personal story of my presence in this server. Where I end, Niki continues.
So I came here on day 47 and joined a guild called Ambition. It was a German guild, but I defied logic and joined anyway after much resistance considering I was the only American there. After a while I was getting tired of this German nonsense so I broke off from the main guild of Ambition and created a satellite guild called Sexy Lead The Way. This guild lasted about a month. I started it late April and broke it up at around late May. It wasn't very successful in terms of getting a high amount of members, but holy crap, we were violent.
Two to four of us would raid PvP rooms and kill everyone and we would usually be outnumbered two to one and sometimes three to one. We were known as an overly aggressive guild in PvP and we were worse during WoE. A team of two of us, which was usually Trixie and I, would run to several guilds and smash them. Sometimes we would run into Surf and Coryphee and would piss off even more people. Eventually the guild leaders would ask a ceasefire from us so we could assault the emp together, and I feigned in agreement and when everyone was gathered in the middle of us, we would Trojan Horse them. It was acts like these combined with our aggressive nature that we had a low population and bad reputation to match.
It was at this point that Trixie, Wish, and I decided to remake the guild and carryover our two or three members. Trixie and Wish agreed to the name of Cup of Tea and because it was two against one, I had to concede to the name as well and then Cup of Tea was born. The first members were carryovers, Evgeny and Owny. Hours later I would join server giants What Guild. We had a very rocky start, Trixie disappeared one week after the guild's formation, Wish was becoming inactive due to traveling for work, and I was too busy making Acid Demo bottles for WoE day in, day out during playtime. We would recruit here and there, but they didn't stick around long because we were too busy doing our own thing and the guild almost died two weeks in.
I stuck it out though. About a month of What Guild dominating WoE, the guild leader decided to give us all a summer break so this gave me time to work on Tea, to work on our Paradox and Maelstrom alliance, and overall, just some time to myself in game since I was constantly always working for What Guild. I made a lot of changes in the guild. I had relinquished Wish's coleader position which lead to a slight problem in the future. During this time, Tea had gotten a lot of advertisement and backing because of my stint with What Guild so it helped the guild grow to know that the leader had played a role in the server's most dominant guild. At this point I had taken Erica from a guild that a friend of mine ran, and I had taken Cheryl from Surf's guild. I had an awful habit of taking members from other guilds, you'll find out more later, but those two would both eventually become my coleaders.
Sometime during the dog days of summer, Aoi along with Alicia would merge their guild; Pop My Cherry with Tea and we would grow into a powerhouse guild. Alongside both Paradox and Maelstrom, we had a great summer run. Ask Bryce, he was part of this run. At this point the guild had reached a peak with several people online all at once at it was a lot to handle. Maybe too much to be honest. A few of my old members started talking to me about their disinterest in the guild now because I had ignored them. Everyday we would get several new people and everyday we would lose several people. We had a large turnover rate and that was partially due to too many people in the guild. Eventually one of my oldest members left the guild and joined Wish's. Here I started to think that Wish was stealing Tea members and bringing them over. That wasn't the case and the matter was quickly disbursed.
Towards the end of summer things started to cool down. Everyone was slowly returning to their real life obligations and the alliances we had formed had dissolved. We got tired of Paradox's guild leader giving us crap for never going to WoE and Maelstrom was stuck in their own little world so we all went our separate ways. At this point, Cheryl and I developed some tension over an incident that I can no longer recall, but we couldn't reconcile and I had lost my coleader as she departed from not just the guild, but from the server as well. At this point I had gotten deeply entrenched with someone in the guild and I had invited into the guild. I lost interest, I made Erica the new leader, and I had left the server. Before I had left though, the biggest surprise happened midweek of September: Trixie had returned to me. She stayed with me in the server for one week before she left again mysteriously. It was a proper send off from the guild's original mother. Why I call her the original mother is because when Wish, Trixie and I had created the guild, she had created the guild leader account, the guild leader character, and finally the guild itself because Wish and I were lazy. Anyway, the point is, Trixie gave the guild as well as me closure.
I'm not entirely sure what happened at this point. Bryce, Aoi/Janina, Evgeny and maybe one or two others had become Erica's coleaders, but I wasn't around during this period. I do remember during my absence, Cheryl had a small stint back in the server and before I could return, she once again ended it, but during this time, we had resolved our conflict.
About two months later in December, I started to slowly frequent RO to see how Erica was doing. At this time she had involved herself with a member of an allying guild. He happened to be part of What Guild and encouraged her to sign up. At this time, I had encouraged her too, helping with her application. During the application process, she was accepted. It was at this point she admitted to me that she wasn't ready to be a leader and always wondered what I would've done in her position, so at this point she announced to the guild that she was breaking it. I supported her cause, but because of the times with this guild, I couldn't let it die, so I prematurely accepted the reins of guild leader again, but even I knew I was no longer fit for a role like that.
I tried for about two or three weeks, but I was just out of it. Erica's lot respected me at least because they knew who I was, so it was at least a peaceful transition of power and at this point, I felt bad for all of them. Only one of Erica's lot had left the guild while the rest expected me to guide them. It was a bit selfish of me to allow them to remain in this empty guild so rather than give them empty promises, I contacted Marie, otherwise known as Damosel, the leader of the now defunct Whirlpool guild. I proposed a guild merge with her in which she gladly accepted. I had turned Tea into our alt guild and slowly we all got to know each other. For a second I regretted doing the merger. It was no different than me leaving Tea as it was before the merge. No one was on, the guild leader was inactive, and I was dissatisfied.
Eventually, Marie's drama with the guild map owners had forced the owners to remove us from the map and Marie relinquished control of Whirlpool. There was a plan I was unaware of beforehand where Marie was recreating the guild. The end product at this point is what you now know as Elegancia. I was made Marie's coleader of the guild meaning I was spiritually the leader. I was even more dissatisfied with being in this guild, but regardless, I was still performing the duties the guild leader should've.
Erica had rejoined me at this point. During this time, Erica no longer was interested in RO and momentarily quit. I can't exactly remember what happened, but eventually she came back and I had her join me in Elegancia.
About two weeks into the guild's formation an incident occurred where I decided to do a last minute Thana run that had to be done from scratch since there were no stones. As we're finishing the first phase of the dungeon, Marie had signed on and found out and had made some comments that seriously pissed me off. People were transmitting to me that she was annoyed that I had done this without her, so at first I ignored it and finally as we warped back to Lutie, I made a second call inviting everyone not involved with the first phrase to take part of the second phase. She remained silent and ignorant to my open invitation. I took whoever wanted to go and finally as we finished, we headed back to Lutie. Marie sends me a PM informing me that she wished that I told her about this and I told her this was completely last minute and she told me she was annoyed of that.
Like so many times in the past, I erupted in fury. I left Elegancia at this point and returned home to Tea. Shebes accompanied me as I left. Mirialyn would also join us a few days later. Imagine the Jerry Maguire scene where he revolts and says "WHO'S GONNA COME WITH?" That's almost what happened here. Here's a real life interpretation of how it went down actually:
The whole point of this section about Elegancia is actually what laid the grounds for what you know today as the third generation of Tea. For a few weeks it was only Shebes and I alone in the guild with the occasional alt character signing on to greet us. It was at this point that I had slowly started having a friendship with who you all know as the current mother of Tea, Niki. At this point I was ready to quit the server once again, but I had teased with everyone about bringing Tea back. Here, Marie started to question why I was bringing it back and I told her I would never actually bring Tea back.
Niki was slowly trying to encourage me to revive the guild, but I knew I had no spirit left to do this. I tried again anyway. I made a small topic about how Tea was making its presence known to the server. A lot questions rang up from some people. So after two weeks or so, after her and I had a solid friendship, I proposed the idea to her: Become the new leader of Tea. This sent shockwaves amongst a lot of people. At this point she was a loyal member of Samhain and many people in Elegancia believed Tea would never come back and I would return to Elegancia.
She accepted after some consultation with people. Just like how I retrieved Erica and Cheryl, I had taken Niki away from another guild. When this happened, Elegancia broke the alliance with us and had removed Tea from the guild map. Niki received a lot of opposition from Samhain members and had ejected herself from the guild. There was a lot of bad blood and I'm not entirely sure if it's all been settled after this incident, but this is where I stop writing this story. I left two weeks later with Shebes. It's Niki's turn now.
